What you want is more powerful than what you don’t want. However we have a strong tendency to stay on what is negative in our life.
Several reasons to that.
- There is a kind of inertia to keep our habits of thoughts, actions…
- We also want, to a certain degree, what we say we don’t want: then we can complain, blame others, etc…
However, if we really focus on what we want, the motivation is always much stronger! The feelings that go with that are really compelling!
So how to prevent our mind to wander where it is the least interesting for us?
We have to use things as concrete as possible. Objects if possible, so that we can see them, and that they are very clear in our mind. But also predetermined routine that will be easily followed.
We live in a material life and a life of action. Those are the things we must keep in mind if we want to take control of our life.
Don’t hesitate to write down as much as possible: your conclusions, your actions, your commitments…
That make them very concrete too!
