When everything seems too difficult, come back to yourself

Emotions rule our world. Our inner world actually, but that’s eventually the only world we live in.

Emotions come from stories of what’s happening. Stories depending on our past experiences, but above all, on the perception we had of them and the perception we have now. That’s why I speak of stories. Nothing is real, just interpretations of the reality.

Now, should these emotions become barely bearable, or even difficult to live with, what can you do?

Well, first it is important to realise that the stories that created those emotions are always based on external components: the world as we perceive it around us (people, events…), even if this world is our own body.

Now if you want to detache yourself from those emotions, you have to detach yourself from those stories. That’s where I say: come back to yourself!

Come back to what is here and now, not your emotions but what is objectively here. Come back to what you want. Not your stories but as if you were looking at this situation from the outside. As if you were counseling a friend. You can look at yourself objectively and you’ll be of good advice! Come back to what you know is true.

And then, just take an action, any action that goes in this direction, but take an action.

This way of working just changes things right away. Not everything for everytime obviously, but you have truly started to create another story. And now new emotions are starting to grow.

Continue the process, and create something that will obviously make you happy, sooner than you think!

Action (real world) is opposed to emotions (false world). That’s why it is really so efficient!
