What you focus on develops. That’s maybe the only thing to know!
When we decide to fight against something we don’t want, we are simply directing all our attention and energy in the exact direction we don’t want to go.
Then what other alternative can we perceive when we look only where we don’t want to be?
Now choosing is also an option. When I say choosing, I mean putting our attention and energy on a choice. And putting it precisely enough that we can arrive at the exact destination.
In other words, let’s say you take your car and enter in your GPS what you’re focusing on.
- If you enter the destination you want to avoid, you’ll have at all times signals that will indicate the only road you don’t want
- If you enter the country where you want to go… fine! But don’t expect to arrive at the house of your friends…
- If you enter the precise adress of the house of your friends, then guess the result !
We always land at the place we have focused our mind on.
The problem is that we believe that what we feel is our reality. And if we want to change this reality, we have a lot of stories and rules that say what we must, or should, do in order to change it.
What if we would just change what is in our head. Instead of filling it with what we feel, we can focus on what we decide we want… despite opposite feelings!
That’s called choice.
And if you don’t feel you can change it but focus and act according to this choice anyway… that’s called faith!
Do it any way you want, but notice that in any case, what you focus on develops.
