The false sensation of loss

If you want to get to the next level in your life, or to change something important, to improve in any area, there is probably this kind of problem that stops you: you’re going to loose something in the process!

Either you have to make sacrifices, or you must give up something pleasant for you (good time, food…) . Think about it, that’s often a big problem!

I think a big part of the solution lies here. If the next big level you want to reach means loosing something of value, is it really that interesting? Are you really convinced you want it? On the one hand you say that it would be better, but on the other hand you don’t totally agree with the terms!

And that’s where things get much more complicated than they should!

Yes, than they should!

Because a real improvement in one’s life is always a big pleasure, something we really appreciate and for which we would never come back to the previous situation!

So is the “loss” we perceive a real loss? Or is it just that we don’t fully understand what is at play. What result is really to come!

A real improvement is something that always brings more in all aspects of our life and lets us with less problem. Otherwise it is just a compromise, but it is clearly not the same thing!

What I want to bring to your attention is that the problem about us not really wanting to upgrade our life is due to the bad awareness of what is really at play.

  • We perceive a loss that has no real value in the final result
  • We don’t understand the real value and result that is at play

And that’s very often this lack of awareness which prevents us from getting a better life, better conditions, etc…

We are so lost in our personal stories that we usually don’t perceive this kind of reality correctly.
